In my experience, combining any 66% slow with water trident is enough to make maelstrom deadly. And I'd much rather have water trident as my elite for when I'm not maelstroming.

A lot of people seem to be overlooking Ice Spear.

The damage and recharge on it are reasons enough to consider
using it.

arcane echo and maelstrom. PvE Gold. Stops Casters for 20s. The exhaust is much more tolerable with water attunement, so i use that too.
I love my (almost) pure water elem build, Usually works well damn near everywhere.
I gotta pick water trident over ice spikes cuz i dont like getting that close to the enemies, but you got a point with its spam possibilities. Go Hydromancers!!!

i think it's the best one, but i get your point... you can't really mix things up with water... but doing a water/X combo might be cool to try (X being another ele style of magic).

LOL- your build is almost exactly like his!!! I guess you didn't read it that carefully. Also, he did state his build is for PvE not PvP. I can maybe understand not using blurred vision in PvE, but in PvP its one of Water's best skills.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, stop claiming that this or that build is the best!

he was using shard storm and water attunement (the attunement isn'y my problem).

shard storm is a bad skill imo, because it can be blocked by walls and the likes...

he also uses ether prodigy, another problem imo, since the water ele isn't too energy dependant... you can still be very effective at very low energy, and the exhaustion fro prodigy is not neccesary.

i also said that my build was the best "in my opinion". that means i think it is the best, but that's just my opinion, and could be wrong.

what you posted doesn't seem to help the topic in no real way, so is there a real reason for the post, besides loling at me for a post i wrote?

What about this ? If you dont like the damage of a water ele why not just get support and slowing enemies one of my favorite PvE builds is this one own made probaly already existed ... :P
12+3+1 Water Magic
10+1 Energy Storage
8 Protection Prayers
2 Healing Prayers
Elemental Attunement
Water Attunement
Deep Freeze
Freezing Gust
Maelstorm
Protective Spirit
Aegis
Resseruction Chant

Or try this one
Same as before but delete the protection prayers stuff set
Energy Storage 9 + 1
Healing Prayers 9
Just keep rest same and same skills except nr 6 and 7,
change them to Healing Whisper and Cure hex/Heal Other depends on what you like.
